Maria has exhibited her work at many places including the Sirolli Fine Art, the Montserrat Contemporary Art Gallery, solo shows at the United Nations headquarters (1998), the Living Room Gallery of Saint Peter's Church (1999), Montserrat Gallery (SoHo, 1999 and 2003), the 2/20 Gallery (Chelsea, 2002, 2004, 2006 and 2007) and the Argentine Consulate (2004), as well as in group shows at the Joyce Robins Gallery (2001, invitational), the Selby Fleetwood Gallery (2004-2005) and at the InArt Santa Fe Gallery. She has also presented multiple times at the Exhibitions of Argentine Contemporary Art at the Palacio San Martin in Buenos Aires, at the Signature Gallery in Tallahassee, Florida.
Born in Buenos Aires, de Echevarrïa lives and paints in both New York and New Mexico, where she is attracted by the light and feels in emotional communion with the landscape. She has studied under the Peruvian painter Reynaldo Bisetti and has taken classes at the Art Students League of New York, but she considers herself primarily self-taught.
